I thought the cutscenes were gratuitously long, especially the action sequences, which dragged on forever and made me wish I was the one controlling the action, the story was incomprehensible, for some sequences (like the motorcycle sequence) the controls were just plain bad, there were invisible walls galore, it was way too I actually wasn't incredible crazy about the first Bayonetta. DMC, which is saying a lot, but this game is leagues ahead of any action game today, so if you don't have it, get it, and is there enough new content to get it again? Not a whole lot, but the portability aspect alone makes it worth 60 bucks. This game is better than the game that inspired it.
Simply put, this is the action masterpiece to get. The action pieces on this are simply amazing and will keep blowing you away, even after you have played it over 10 times. If you think what you see in COD is amazing, you ain't seen nothing yet. The set pieces are just breathtaking and set a new bench mark for action games. You do get some tutorials to help you figure out how to do a lot of the combos, but it wants you to experiment with button pushing and analog pressing. The controls are butter smooth and they don't put too much on the player. Better shadows and lighting do help the atmosphere. The smoother frame rate helps pull off combos much easier and keeps the action going so you don't lose momentum. The graphics get a mild upgrade, it is the frame rate that got upgraded the most and it helps. The story is crazy, but that is fine, it whisk you up with how silly it all is, but there is some deep emotions in the game as well to keep it grounded.
You will be destroying demons in no time with some practice. The combos are easy to pull off, but they do take practice. The graphics get a mild Bayo 2 is one of the greatest games of all time.
